The 2022-2023 Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA will be a contributing member to the Basic Needs Security team to advance BNS programs to scale and engaging in research that supports interdisciplinary policy development that is anchored in the intersection of basic student needs supports and academic success. This VISTA service will begin remotely and may transition to a hybrid working environment. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $1,150.80. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide a public transit pass, parking pass, a DHE issued laptop, and an internet or phone stipend. The AmeriCorps member serving at the Massachusetts DHE will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year. Member Duties : The AmeriCorps Member at the MDHE will: • Work to expand DHE’s capacity to bring Basic Needs Security Programs to scale at all 29 public college and university campuses • Collaborate with DHE staff and other agency partners to support program scaling efforts (examples: asset mapping, resource guide development/refinement, convene focus groups, etc.) • Maintain and distribute Basic Needs Security monthly newsletter • Support DHE’s outreach and convening efforts to offer professional development that underwrite Basic Needs Security and Racial Equity recommendations • Support DHE research and program evaluation efforts of Basic Needs Security Programs for effectiveness and sustainability
