2022 Data and Development Summer Associate
 
 
 
This Data and Development Summer Associate will be hosted by Share Our Spare located in Chicago, IL. Share Our Spare is a part of the Housing Action AmeriCorps Network, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. As such, this position will receive customized training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps VISTA positions. Learn more about the program on Housing Action’s website. At Share Our Spare, our mission is to ensure every child in Chicago has the essentials they need to thrive in the first five years of life. We do this by collecting new and gently used infant and toddler items from those with “extras” to spare and distributing them to families living in poverty through a sustainable network of volunteers, community stakeholders, and social service agencies. With a distribution network of more than 65 agency partners, we are supporting social workers across seven counties and providing essential items to more than 10,000 children annually. Share Our Spare (SOS) seeks a highly motivated, versatile and socially conscious Data and Development Summer Associate to join our team. This role will work with the Executive Director and the Director of Partnerships and Community Engagement to increase stakeholder engagement through giving, volunteerism and advocacy. Through a streamlined plan and approach, this role will develop and launch new opportunities and events for Share Our Spare to provide continuous opportunities for organizational capacity and growth. The ideal candidate for this position will have a background or understanding of fundraising and grant writing, is a creative thinker, and solutions oriented problem solver. They will work well both individually and as a team.

Member Duties : 1) Become familiar with our donor database Neon, understand the calendar of fundraising events, and become familiar with the current donor engagement plan. 2) Apply research and familiarization from previous objective to identify full capacity of the systems currently in use. Develop and execute action plans for cleansing donor database, platform integration to enhance capacity. 3) Reflect on and evaluate the activities from previous objective. Outline next steps for the projects including suggestions for how to maintain processes and track areas that may need regular updates. 4) Reflect on and evaluate the stage of each of the objectives included in your project. Outline next steps for continuation of each element, lessons learned, and next steps.
