Member Duties : The Summer Associate will assess the current state of community engagement and awareness of the Cowley County Farmers Markets and create or revise programming and marketing to improve its effectiveness and sustainability. The Summer Associate will also develop and implement programming and marketing/outreach for SNAP recipients and children for weekly markets. The Summer Associate will develop and implement surveys, interviews, and polls for vendors and customers at the markets that determine how the Farmers Market impacts populations of focus (low-income, racial and ethnic minorities, veterans, WIC recipients, industry workers, young adults, and others to be determined. The Summer Associate will set up outreach systems and develop partnerships with community organizations, local businesses, and public education institutions to increase knowledge of SNAP Recipients, children and adolescents, young adults, seniors, and other focal groups about food resource skills and nutrition.
