Ending Hunger Corps, Full Plates Full Potential Brunswick ME

Full Plates Full Potential is a statewide nonprofit organization on a mission to end child hunger in Maine by partnering with schools and communities to create sustainable systems change through investment and advocacy. Since 2016, our work has involved strengthening and expanding the reach of child nutrition programs through technical and financial assistance directly to schools and community organizations to help feed kids now, while advocating for the systemic changes necessary to ensure that all Maine’s kids have consistent access to nutritious meals. Our work involves deep partnerships and collaboration with state and national organizations and state government and agencies. The Community Engagement VISTA will leverage learnings from partnerships, data collection, and analysis to identify gaps and opportunities in addressing child hunger in Maine. Findings will be compiled into a report aimed at informing future efforts of Full Plates’ and our partners to strengthen and expand child nutrition programs. This position offers opportunities for networking and relationship building with leaders working in policy, hunger relief, education, and public health as well as access to professional development opportunities. We are seeking a candidate with great people skills, deep curiosity, a desire to learn, experience with data gathering and analysis, and a drive for trust and relationship building. Our office is in downtown Brunswick, Maine, just 35 minutes north of Portland, with the option of working remotely or in-person. Pending budget approval, Full Plates will provide support toward rent (direct to landlord) and utilities. This position contributes to Maine’s historic goal of ending hunger in the state by 2030 as part of Ending Hunger Corps, a 25-member cohort model VISTA program sponsored by Maine's Department of Agriculture, Conservation, Forestry (DACF): https://www.maine.gov/dacf/about/commissioners/endhunger/
