Campus Compact National Louis University Veterans
 
 
 
Our program applies a holistic approach supporting military-connected students through a variety of wrap-around services including financial, mental health, career, legal, spiritual, academic, to ensure their successful graduation and employment readiness. The AmeriCorps member will assist with the development, coordination, and implementation of programs that increase awareness and support of student needs and of the Veterans and Military program both on campus and in the community The biweekly living allowance for this position is $575.40. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide a public transit pass, a parking pass, meals, and NLU market discounts. The AmeriCorps member serving at National Louis University will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year. Member Duties : The AmeriCorps member will build the Veterans and Military Program's capacity to increase the number of veterans, military members, and their family members’ graduation rates and successful attainment of meaningful careers. Deliver developed financial literacy programs to Veterans and military families in order to address their specific financial and economic issues. Continue building and developing long-term partnerships with community organizations to assist student veterans and their families in securing economic opportunities leading to internships and/or sustainable employment. Expand the VRC’s capacity to provide holistic support and wrap-around services to student veterans and their families in order to support degree completion and meaningful employment. Develop internal long-term partnerships with NLU departments and organizations Research and submit for development opportunities.
