The Student Engagement Center AmeriCorps member at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay will decrease homelessness, increase participation in food assistance programs, and increase college graduation rates of low-income students by recruiting and training volunteers, creating new outreach programs, and developing training and support materials for the Student Engagement Center staff. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $675.08. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide fitness center access and professional development training opportunities. The AmeriCorps member serving at UW Green Bay will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year. Member Duties : 1. Create marketing and promotional materials for service and volunteerism programs and CUEGB.com 2. Assess and develop an action plan to increase the number of families taking part in food assistance benefits and programs 3. Develop training and support materials for community partners, student organizations, faculty, and staff 4. Recruit volunteers for community partner agencies to fill vacant volunteer roles with trained and qualified students, faculty, or staff from UWGB.
