Development VISTA (position full)

Reporting to the Senior Director of Communication, Development, and Grants, the VISTA will help NYFC take its development efforts to the next level by helping us build out capacity related to individual donors, volunteer engagement, and communications. Specific tasks will include researching new grant opportunities, assisting in the application process, managing donor data information, growing our volunteer program, segmenting our donor list to better reach specific audiences, writing and sending e-blasts, and maintaining a regular social presence. Building on the work of the previous VISTA, the additional development and fundraising efforts would allow NYFC to apply for more funding to support existing interventions, grow our donor base, and efficiently and effectively leverage resources. As the NYFC currently works in a hybrid in-person/remote model, NYFC will ensure that the selected candidates have Internet Access, computers with access to the NYFC database, and receive orientation and training virtually. The VISTA will also be provided with monthly transportation/Metro Cards so they can get to and from the office, and will be reimbursed for use of their cell phones (up to $75 per month). The office is located by Pennsylvania Station in New York City - a very central hub - so any candidates in the region will be able to access the office via public transportation. Priority may be given to local applicants so that they will not need to scramble to find housing.
