2022 - 2023 Communications and External Relationships VISTA
 
 
 
The Communications and External Relationships VISTA will be hosted by TerritoryNFP, located in Chicago, IL. Territory is a part of the Housing Action AmeriCorps Network, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. As such, this position will receive customized training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps VISTA positions. The Communications and External Relationships VISTA will collaborate with the Executive Director, program staff, participants and board of directors to develop a communications and social media plan and prototype a new fundraising event in the Austin community area. Territory is an unapologetically youth-led organization that provides career readiness tools, access to resources and networks, leadership opportunities, and wrap-around support for young people who want to build better futures for themselves and their communities. The ideal candidate for this position will be a member of the communities we serve and have a passion for youth development. The ideal candidate will be organized and punctual. This candidate will also be proficient in necessary software, such as excel and word.

Member Duties : VISTA Member duties: -Research, strategize and develop volunteer recruitment initiatives. -Perform outreach to similar organizations nationwide to identify best practices for volunteer management -Develop new internal documents regarding the CFB’s procedures, policy and protocols for recruiting and managing volunteers -Develop technical skills in using software, such as google sheets and social media apps. -Self improvement in skills including writing & communication.
