Campus Compact UMASS Dartmouth
Join the UMass Dartmouth Leduc Center for Civic Engagement as a part of our efforts to incorporation service and volunteerism as a meaningful and beneficial part our students’ collegiate career. Our AmeriCorps member will be vital part of our “Corsair Engage” project that recognizes the reality that low-income students often need specialized support to successfully complete their college degree. Our “Corsair Engage” program assists students to incorporate meaningful service into their college to reap the benefits of service in terms of increased social capital, personal growth, well-being, and connection to their future career. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $697.20. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide a parking pass, fitness center access, and library/career center access. The AmeriCorps member serving at UMASS Dartmouth will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year. Member Duties : 1. Develop Corsair Engage Advisory council 2. Support expansion of first-year programming including orientation and first-year classes in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Sustainability minor. 3. Recruit and train students to utilize our Corsair Engage platform 4. Coordinate and monitor programs 5. Collect and analyze data, make recommendations for improvement and report findings 6. Market program and communicate with stakeholders 7. Participate in Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA trainings and professional development opportunities
