The Career & Workforce AmeriCorps member will, in conjunction with ACC’s Career Services, Workforce & Community Programs Office, and Admissions, build the capacity of the college to connect low-income students to obtain workforce training, education, and skills that meet employer needs and lead to increased employment through conducting research, analyzing data, building partnerships, and developing a sustainable pipeline for improved job placement from both credit and non-credit programs. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $674.66. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide a parking pass, access to free/reduced courses, fitness center access, internet/phone stipend, and a laptop for remote work. The AmeriCorps member serving at Arapahoe Community College will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year. Member Duties : 1. Assess the current employment levels of our low-income students in both our credit and non-credit programs and identify barriers to career growth and increased employment opportunities. 2. Create a repository of current workforce partnerships and engage local industry partners to build partnerships for sustainable pipeline and continued student workforce development. 3. Design and implement activities that provide, support, and/or facilitate access to workforce development resources and services intended to improve employability and, ultimately, lead to employment.
