Campus Compact Tufts University

Tisch College and its partners are seeking a self-motivated and resourceful AmeriCorps member to join our team. The Tisch Community Research AmeriCorps member will help shape and implement an initiative that builds the community research capacity of local nonprofit organizations as well as Tufts students and faculty. The primary goal is to better understand community problems and potential solutions through research that is antiracist in orientation, leveraging community-based participatory and action research approaches. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $1,150.80. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide public transit assistance, meal assistance, fitness center access, and library access. The AmeriCorps member serving at Tisch college will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year. Member Duties : 1. Help assess, and expand a community-student research cohort for community and university stakeholders, bringing together new and experienced community researchers to share best participatory practices and antiracist frameworks to inform anti-poverty programs. 2. Compile resources and materials that emerge from the cohort and workshops into an online format for a larger audience. Support the development of an online participatory research hub on the Tisch website. 3. Work together with the Tisch College Community Research Center Director and Directory of Community Partnerships to grow relationships with anti-poverty organizations in target geographic areas. 4. Scale-up a new community research forum to highlight community partners as co-educators and center community knowledge in research 5. Participate in TCRC steering committee meetings, Tisch College staff meetings, weekly check-ins, and other convenings. 6. Compile required reports as directed by the AmeriCorps program.
