Willis Dady Emergency Shelter, Inc: Operations, IAMNCC

Willis Dady Homeless Services provides shelter and prevention services to the homeless and near-homeless. Clients are empowered to break the cycle of homelessness and become self-sufficient. The Willis Dady Works Operations VISTA will work directly with the employment, development, and housing teams. With the opening of the new Willis Dady Works building serving as an employment hub, new operations are being developed including trainings and workshops for clients as well as on-site employment opportunities. The neighboring building will also be converted into more supportive housing units for clients with higher barriers. The VISTA will support volunteers through recruitment, training, and supervision.This project is part of the Community Corps VISTA Program, operated by Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact. The program strives to eliminate poverty through campus-community partnerships by placing capacity building support in higher education and nonprofit organizations. ***Please also send cover letter and resume to supervisor. Member Duties : The VISTA will implement best practices of policies and procedures for operations at Willis Dady Works to support housing, development, and employment teams. The VISTA Will connect volunteers to all areas of our work. This will be done by implementing policies and procedures for the Willis Dady Works front desk, Dress for Success Clothing Closet, and Permanent Supportive Housing projects. The VISTA will support volunteers by assisting in recruitment and training to better serve all Willis Dady programs housed in the Willis Dady Works campus. They will be responsible for recording data regarding the impact of volunteers at Willis Dady Works and pursuing professional development opportunities.
