Hennepin Technical College: Basic Needs Resources, IAMNCC

OUR MISSION To provide excellence in career and technical education for employment and advancement in an ever-changing global environment. OUR VISION Embracing quality and innovation in career and technical education, workforce development, and lifelong learning. OUR VALUES Trust, Integrity, Pride, Passion, Respect. Collaboration, Innovation, Continuous Improvement, and Diversity that Foster Quality Service, Employee Engagement, Student Success. By joining Hennepin Technical College (HTC), the largest technical college in MN, you become part of a network of caring professionals committed to your success. More than one in four (25.5%) Hennepin Tech students report worrying about whether their food would run out before they had money to buy more. One in five (20.0%) report experiencing a food shortage and lacking money to buy more within the past 12 month. Many students at Hennepin Technical College who experience basic needs insecurity do not receive public assistance. The above data is the reason a VISTA will be critical to the moving the needle on student persistence and completion. Assessing the needs of low-income and underrepresented students and helping students access SNAP and create stable food resources is one-step to helping the students succeed. This project is part of the Community Corps VISTA Program, operated by Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact. The program strives to eliminate poverty through campus-community partnerships by placing capacity building support in higher education and nonprofit organizations. ***Please also send cover letter and resume to supervisor. Interviews will occur on a rolling basis. Preference given to candidates who apply early.***
