City Fresh-AmeriCorps VISTA
 
 
 
City Fresh is a weekly farm box program. Since 2005, City Fresh has delivered weekly shares of produce to families in Cleveland and throughout northeast Ohio direct from local farmers. Our nonprofit program is a direct response to the lack of available fresh and local produce in urban and peri-urban neighborhoods. We work with local farmers within 70 miles to deliver produce weekly to more than 600 shareholders in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties during our 24-week season. We are the only program of our kind working in the food deserts of our region, offering accessible pricing and support to low-income families, accepting SNAP, and working directly with farmers.

Member Duties : As our VISTA member, you will collaborate with staff to promote community food security. You will develop robust and dynamic nutrition education materials, optimizing our communications and marketing strategy. Conducting stakeholder interviews, recruiting new program participants, and building community partnerships, you will deepen City Fresh’s impact on our community. Finally, you will travel to our farm and distribution sites across Cuyahoga and Lorain counties, capturing photos, videos, and stories to powerfully communicate our mission and work. Get ready to exercise your creative muscles through writing and design for a cause! **Benefits include a monthly $200 housing stipend to supplement living costs.**
