Iowa and Minnesota Campus Compact Summer VISTA Program

Iowa Campus Compact’s VISTA Summer Associates will be placed in community agencies and on college campuses to work on projects focusing on summer learning loss, food insecurity, and program building. Summer Learning Associates will engage in the development of new curricula for youth programming and providing direct program support and mentoring services with Iowa’s youth. Community Gardening Associates will research and improve food security in low-income communities. Capacity Building Associates will develop new partnerships with community agencies and build strategies to recruit and retain volunteers. Together, Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact strengthens the capacity of colleges and universities to fulfill the public purposes of higher education through its network of 58 campuses. This includes educating students through community and civic learning experiences and making an impact in communities through reciprocal partnerships that address community-identified goals. IAMNCC creates partnership opportunities, supports quality programming through professional development, and promotes the importance of the civic mission. The Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact VISTA Community Corps strives to eliminate poverty through campus-community partnerships by placing capacity building support in nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions.
