2022-2023 Data and Evaluation Associate VISTA

This Data and Evaluation Associate will be hosted by Garfield Park Community Council (GPCC) located in the Garfield Park neighborhood on Chicago’s West Side. GPCC is a part of the Housing Action AmeriCorps Network, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. As such, this position will receive customized training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps VISTA positions. Learn more about the program on Housing Action’s website. GPCC is a community-building organization made up of dedicated residents and allies working together to develop leaders and create opportunities and programs that build a vital Garfield Park, a neighborhood on Chicago’s West Side that has experienced decades of disinvestment. GPCC focuses on four major areas of community renewal: housing, business development, wellness, and resident leadership. GPCC currently offers housing support services and works to reoccupy vacant and abandoned properties through the Micro Market Recover Program (MMRP), and owns a 40-unit affordable senior housing facility. The Data and Evaluation Associate will help to measure, integrate, and expand the GPCC’s housing programs. The position will interface with community volunteers, partners, and organizational staff to create innovative programs and community investment opportunities. An ideal candidate for this position is someone who is a swift learner who can work on a variety of projects. This person needs to be able to work well with others., as well as with a diverse group of people including Garfield Park residents and organization staff. Experience with research and data analysis, housing services, or development is preferred but not required. Garfield Park is a primarily and historically African American community, and the Garfield Park Community Council seeks AmeriCorps members who display a commitment to racial equity and inclusion.
