GPCC currently offers housing support services and works to reoccupy vacant and abandoned properties through the Micro Market Recover Program (MMRP), and owns a 40-unit affordable senior housing facility. The Communications Associate will help to promote, integrate, and expand the GPCC’s housing programs. The position will be supervised by the Director of Development and Communications and will create strategies and materials to promote innovative programs and community investment opportunities. An ideal candidate for this position is someone who is a swift learner who is able work well with others.. Strong writing skills, attention to detail, basic graphic design, and project management skills are preferred. Garfield Park is a primarily and historically African American community, and AmeriCorps members should display a commitment to racial equity and inclusion.
