2022-2023 Fundraising VISTA
 
 
 
This Fundraising VISTA will be hosted by HOPE Fair Housing Center located in Wheaton, IL. HOPE Fair Housing Center is a part of the Housing Action AmeriCorps Network, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. As such, this position will receive customized training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps VISTA positions. This position can start on November 7, December 5, and January 17. HOPE Fair Housing center is the oldest and largest fair housing center in the state of Illinois. Founded in 1968, HOPE works to create housing opportunities for all and end housing discrimination. HOPE accomplishes this goal through education, outreach, enforcement, Training and advocacy. This VISTA member will develop strategic relationships with prospective donors and corporate leaders throughout the state. The VISTA member will also engage with current HOPE donors, with the end goal of inviting them to increase their annual contribution to HOPE Fair Housing Center. Additionally, the VISTA member will oversee the implementation of HOPE’s donor relations management system to track these key partnerships. This VISTA will collaborate closest with their supervisor, HOPE’s Director of Outreach, Events and Fundraising, and occasionally interact with other staff members. The ideal candidate has a genuine passion for civil rights and housing justice, along with an interest in learning about fair housing. Prior experience with project management or development is beneficial. Experience with donor and or customer relations management experience is beneficial. Experience speaking in another language, such as Spanish, is also strongly preferred.
