2022-2023 IAFCC Health Access Initiatives Lead VISTA
 
 
 
The Illinois Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (IAFCC) aims to build the capacity of the 52 free and charitable clinics across the state of Illinois. The Health Access Initiatives Lead VISTA will increase the capacity of IAFCC by coordinating the implementation of strategic projects informed by clinics to improve healthcare for underinsured and uninsured populations in Illinois. The VISTA will support IAFCC clinics in increasing access to care through innovative solutions that reflect on the clinics ability to adapt to challenges. The VISTA will ensure the progress of the IAFCC Behavioral Health Project and build the capacity of Clinics’ telehealth services through the continuation of the IAFCC Telehealth project. The Health Access Initiatives Lead VISTA will build the capacity of Free and Charitable Clinics across Illinois by coordinating the implementation of strategic initiatives identified by members of the Free and Charitable Clinics and the IAFCC Board. The Health Access Initiatives Lead VISTA will increase the capacity of Free and Charitable Clinics across Illinois by leading the IAFCC Telehealth Project including activities that increase Clinics’ ability to provide telehealth services, as well as, exploring opportunities for Clinics to utilize online resources. The Health Access Initiatives Lead VISTA will explore opportunities to reduce barriers to care through innovative initiatives including telehealth, microsites, clinician development, and other strategies fitting to the dynamic landscape of the free and charitable clinic sector.

Member Duties : They will review IAFCC Strategic Plan and identify key action items for achieving the outlined goals and continuously reevaluate and adapt activities. Create and maintain a tracking system for the implementation of initiatives. They will present initiatives and methods of implementation to key stakeholders. Assist in the production of the annual conference. They will learn about and lead the different Telehealth projects that IAFCC is implementing among member clinics. They will explore and spread awareness of relevant online resources and support use of substantial online resources that build the capacity of clinics. They will review national initiatives and those taking place in other states to reduce barriers to health care. They will initiate discussions and share opportunities for clinics regarding increasing healthcare access. They will gather and share resources to support clinics in their ability to provide inclusive care and foster a culture of belonging.
