The VISTA will develop new partnerships with additional organizations, especially those in two Chicago neighborhoods that have faced disproportionate hardships and that have been identified as institutional priority neighborhoods – Greater Lawndale and Auburn-Gresham. The AmeriCorps VISTA will assume oversight of the Galaxy Digital service platform and support its use by community organizations and internal partners. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $575.40 in Cook County, Illinois. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide access to professional development and training opportunities The AmeriCorps member serving at the University of Illinois Chicago will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and to share resources.
