Campus Compact University of Wisconsin Madison
 
 
 
The AmeriCorps member serving at the University of Wisconsin - Madison will increase the capacity of the University for highly effective, mutually-beneficial partnerships with anti-poverty nonprofit organizations in Wisconsin through an enhanced liaison and partnership support model. The focus of these partnerships will be organizational capacity-building activities to realize anti-poverty missions. Partnering organizations focus on ensuring healthy futures through work on food security, opioid use treatment, and community empowerment. The AmeriCorps member will partner with 6-8 nonprofit organizations to refine the standard intake process with nonprofits seeking university partnership, refine the matching of these nonprofits with courses that engage in community-based learning partnerships and support these courses, support use and development of a new Customer Relations Management database to track partnerships, match and support partnership opportunities, and enhance intra-campus communication. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $675.80 in Dane County. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide professional development and training. The AmeriCorps member serving at the University of Wisconsin- Madison will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and to share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year. Member Duties : 1. Refine processes to develop an understanding of nonprofit priorities that may be served through university partnerships. 2. Support the connection of nonprofits with courses that engage in community-based learning partnerships by helping define projects, facilitating communication between the nonprofit and the instructor, and supporting student reflection and development. 3. Explore additional opportunities for partnerships that meet nonprofits’ priorities. 4. Support sustainable growth of the Customer Relations Management (CRM) database that will be used to track nonprofit organizations’ interactions with UW-Madison. 5. Contribute to the development and implementation of outreach activities to nonprofits based out of the UW South Madison Partnership office. 6. Engage nonprofit and campus partners in reflection and evaluation activities throughout the year to monitor progress, inform improvements, and plan for sustained partnership beyond the project.
