Rockhurst University’s mission is to form lifelong learners in the Catholic, Jesuit, liberal arts tradition who engage with the complexities of our world and serve others as compassionate, thoughtful leaders. The AmeriCorps project will seek to develop internal and external partnerships to promote environmentally conscious practices and benefit the campus and neighboring community. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $513.94. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide optional on-campus housing, free or reduced courses, fitness center access, a parking pass, and a phone stipend. The AmeriCorps member serving at Rockhurst will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year.
