Campus Compact TSCPP BA Completion Support
 
 
 
The AmeriCorps member at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology will work in the Bachelors in Psychology Completion program. The member will work closely with the Associate Department Chair of the BA Program and the director of Community Partnerships to create service-learning opportunities for undergraduate students enrolled in the program. The member will be responsible for creating and overseeing an undergraduate student club that focuses upon volunteer efforts in the greater Chicago region. member will work with Community Partnerships to assist students in service-learning work that will help to build their resumes and also provide services to those in need in the community. In addition, the member will also work to develop resources (financial, educational, and personal) for students. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $675.08. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide a $500 housing stipend and a transportation pass. The AmeriCorps member serving at TSCPP will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year. Member Duties : 1. Create structure and guidance for Undergraduate psychology student organization or club and create volunteer opportunities for the club. 2. Collaborate with the Student Support Counselor to coordinate support for BA students. 3. Conduct a needs analysis to determine where assistance is required for degree completion. 4. Identify resources for students to help them with degree completion. 5. Collaborate with Community Partnerships for the Job and Volunteer Fair and supporting and creating service-learning opportunities. 6. Collaborate with Career Services to promote part-time positions for BA students and identify full-time positions post-graduation. 7. Expose BA students to opportunities within AmeriCorps. 8. Research employment and scholarship opportunities for Bachelor’s students. 9. Help structure the service-learning requirements in the Bachelor’s program curriculum. 10. Oversee student ambassadors.
