The AmeriCorps member will focus on building the capacity and sustainability of NECC’s Community Resources program to support student retention and success. The member will help build a program to increase knowledge of and access to federal benefits for every NECC student. The member will assist with doing a needs assessment, mapping college processes, creating and supporting a community advisory board, and producing a program plan to meet the identified need. In addition, the member will assist with resource development to support the project. The member will attend college, community, and statewide meetings to communicate and collaborate on basic needs insecurity issues and initiatives. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $1027.88. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide access to the fitness center and a parking pass or transportation pass. The AmeriCorps member serving at Northern Essex Community College will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year.
