ShareCorps- Whole Again- Summer Associate

Whole Again is a faith-based, 501c3 organization that has been meeting the nutritional needs of at risk children in Cincinnati for the last 17 years. Whole Again partners with a network of local churches and other non-profit organizations to provide facilities and volunteers to provide summer meals and enrichment to local children. This enrichment includes: academic enrichment, physical fitness, art, music, nutrition lessons, financial literacy and field trips for these at risk youth. The meals are provided freshly cooked and ready to eat, by a local caterer, Sunday-Saturday (breakfast and lunch). Some family meals are also provided, as funding allows. Our program meets an immediate need for the children we serve, ensuring they do not go hungry for 10 weeks when school is out. Last summer we served daily meals to more than 800 children at 25 locations.

Member Duties : Whole Again is searching for a two VISTA member team to assist us in operation of our summer food service program. Members will help us track our meal counts to ensure accurate reporting to state, they will act as liaison with our catering company to ensure daily meal orders are placed. Members will work to execute summer program daily including: helping set-up, clean-up, and deliver meals to children. Members will also utilize their creativity in organizing and conducting our enrichment programming. You will work with partner organizations to provide nutrition education and physical fitness activities at the site daily. Help us provide an enriching and nutritious summer for our area youth through a rewarding summer of service!
