PHENND Fellows- Community Outreach and Marketing VISTA

Founded in 2007, Big Picture Philadelphia (BPP) focuses on challenging systemic inequities in education by helping vulnerable high-school age youth find and walk their pathway to success. We run two public high schools founded on the Big Picture Model: small classroom sizes, comprehensive social-emotional and basic needs support, and our flagship Real World Learning program through which students engage in hands-on education and internships connected to their passions. We want students to be able to bring their whole selves to our schools and receive the support they need to feel safe, grow, and flourish.

Member Duties : The overarching goal is to enhance holistic services provided for students at our two high schools by building and nurturing relationships with community partners. The Community Outreach and Marketing VISTA will do so by increasing public awareness of Big Picture Philadelphia and creating a sustainable infrastructure for ongoing community engagement. Specifically, the VISTA will 1) Create an inventory of current organizational and program partners and assess gaps in services; 2) Develop a community outreach plan to heighten visibility of BPP’s schools and programs in North Philadelphia; and 3) Manage and support the creation of marketing initiatives for increasing community engagement.
