Food Strong-Program Associate
 
 
 
Food Strong is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to using fresh foods as a tool to educate, empower, and cultivate health throughout Northeast Ohio. We are seeking a Program Associate to help us to plan, implement, promote, and expand upon our community programs including School Gardens, Culinary Arts, Youth Entrepreneurship, Vacant Lot Restoration, and our wellness outreach programs: Care-A-Van and the Care Strong Project. Our Program Associate's primary focus will be on assisting with promoting, operating, and selling produce from our new food trailer in order to increase access to freshly-grown produce in NEO's more under-resourced, low-access communities.

Member Duties : Our VISTA will address major food security and wellness concerns through our programs. Their responsibilities will include: implementing innovative sales and marketing strategies to promote our food trailer and other programs; planning, implementing, and following up on our programs; attending community events to spread awareness of our services and opportunities for involvement; implementing and managing the Fresh Food Connect app to source donated fresh produce; and writing grants and seeking private donations in support of our programming. The Program Associate will advocate for Food Strong’s mission, programs, and growth, and will gain a variety of valuable technological, sales, marketing, gardening, educational, and teaching skills. They will receive training and network expanding opportunities in the process. Reliable transportation is required for this position. Mileage will be reimbursed at $.58/mile. **Other benefits include a $200 housing stipend to supplement living costs.**
