CCMA University of Baltimore Bee Well Initiative
 
 
 
The Bee Well Initiative works to address the physical, sexual, and mental health wellness in our community. In working with campus partners and local community organizations the CCMA AmeriCorps VISTA will design, implement and evaluate programming initiatives that help address these needs. The CCMA AmeriCorps VISTA will work with the University of Baltimore to: 1) Design training and workshop materials about physical, sexual, and mental health 2) Recruit, onboard, and train students to serve as Peer Health Educators 3) Establish an Active Minds student organization on campus. 4) Develop and execute programming initiatives focused on ending the stigma on mental health The CCMA AmeriCorps VISTA will work to establish partnerships with campus and community partners to ensure longevity of these program initiatives.

Member Duties : The CCMA AmeriCorps VISTA member will work under the supervision of UB to implement the Bee Well Initiative. The CCMA VISTA will be responsible for the development of the Peer Health Educators Program who will be trained to disseminate information and resources to the campus community. Specifically, the CCMA VISTA will design, implement, and recruit for the Peer Health Educators Program. Furthermore, the CCMA AmeriCorps VISTA will lead the charge in bringing Active Minds to our campus, a national nonprofit organization that addresses mental health awareness, and plan an Awareness Campaign to end the stigma on mental health. The CCMA AmeriCorps VISTA will develop a partnership with the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) and Chase Brexton to gather resources related to physical, mental, and sexual health. Additionally, the CCMA AmeriCorps VISTA will work to identify and establish partnerships with local organizations whose mission aligns with the Bee Well Initiative.
