AFVN Ringling College AmeriCorps VISTA Student Life Program

There is a growing issue of food insecurity in Florida. According to the 2020 Florida Department of Health data, Sarasota County has nearly 11% food insecurity rate. Food insecurity impacts students at higher rates, including various students at RCAD. Accordingly, RCAD works to improve economic mobility for low-income students, staff and faculty to overcome food, hygiene, and resource insecurities by facilitating their access to economic support, resources, well- being and belonging at Ringling College and surrounding communities. This initiative will be centralized in the establishment and expansion of a food and hygiene pantry named Remy’s Cupboard focused on servicing students, staff, and faculty who are experiencing food and hygiene insecurities on our RCAD campus, while simultaneously building a strategic plan for sustainability through grant writing and connecting to other resources. Please apply for the position if the listing is still live, even if the start date listed has passed.
