***To be eligible for this position, you must commit to serve full-time for one year with Delridge Neighborhoods Development Association. ***Delridge Neighborhoods Development Association is devoted to social, racial, and environmental justice and provides resources and affordable housing to low-income families in need. VISTA will plan programs in concert with the Housing Asset Manager, create best practice toolkits, organize volunteers, and create a fund-development work plan in concert with the Development Director. The VISTA member will serve along with a cohort of VISTA members working to fight poverty in King County.

Member Duties : The Community Engagement and Communications Specialist VISTA will fight poverty by increasing the agency’s capacity to help families in West Seattle and Southwest Seattle by building relevant programs with the goal of connecting low-income children to educational resources and connecting families to educational and community resources to achieve long term economic stability. The VISTA will create best practice toolkits for increased academic engagement, create, share and implement a communications work plan in concert with the Development Director, to improve communications both internally and externally. Successful applicants will have a passion for the VISTA experience, effective written and verbal communication skills, experience working in nonprofits or public agencies, excellent organizational and creative problem-solving capabilities, emotional intelligence, and project and time management skills. This position requires collaboration, flexibility, and adaptability.
