Workforce Development VISTA
 
 
 
As an AmeriCorps VISTA Member serving with the Workforce Development and Social Initiatives division of the City of Las Vegas, you will support the development of sustainable internal systems that expand opportunities for Las Vegas residents. Your service will focus on building the division’s internal capacity to design, track, and evaluate workforce development, youth development, and community engagement initiatives. You will serve alongside experienced staff to strengthen the division’s infrastructure by developing data systems, improving documentation, creating evaluation frameworks, and enhancing internal coordination processes. Your efforts will help ensure that programs are supported by clear workflows, accessible resources, and effective tools that sustain long-term impact. This position is entirely capacity-building and does not involve direct service, direct engagement with program participants, or acting as a liaison with external partners. The VISTA will instead create the systems and tools that staff will use to better serve the community.

Member Duties : The VISTA will strengthen the division’s internal capacity by designing data collection processes, developing internal evaluation frameworks, and creating templates and tools that staff can use to measure program outcomes. They will build internal systems for identifying and tracking key metrics and performance indicators, ensuring the division has sustainable methods for monitoring impact. The VISTA will develop staff-administered survey tools, reporting templates, and workflows that enhance program documentation and internal communication. All activities will focus on internal process improvement and system development; the VISTA will not gather feedback directly from participants or collaborate directly with external partners.
