Member Duties : This project will include an assessment and study of organizational strength and financial stability of a sampling of limited equity cooperatives (LECs) across DC. Primary activities will include (1) Designing community (LEC) assessment plan, (2) Distributing and collecting the community assessment, and (3) Assessing findings and compiling recommendations. This assessment and resulting study will measure various needs –for example, it will analyze financial data such as amount of outstanding debt and current terms, debt to income ratio, average operating expenses and available cash flow, reserves, what are the current conditions of the building, and is there a need for an additional renovation and/or refinancing.
