SUM Associate VISTA - Horizons NCCS

Horizons at New Canaan Country School (NCCS) was founded in 1964 and was the first program in what has become a fast-growing national network of programs. Horizons at NCCS helps under-resourced students from Stamford and Norwalk public schools to develop strong academic, social, and emotional skills, habits of mind and the resilience to succeed in school and pursue a meaningful, choice-filled life from kindergarten through college enrollment. Reporting to the Development and Communications Manager, the VISTA member will develop an array of digital and media products that will enhance the program’s visibility in the community and with current and potential donors. The VISTA member will also be responsible for collecting and cataloguing stories, videos, photographs and testimonials to be used in marketing and communications throughout the year. Lastly, the VISTA associate will coordinate a project to coordinate the contributions of time and talent and acknowledge and thank donors, community partners and volunteers for their contributions to the summer program. This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging leader with excellent communications and technical skills to develop a professional portfolio. The VISTA member will have the opportunity to receive targeted training and professional development to support success. Member Duties : -Take daily photos and videos of students and staff -Update website and social media with photos, videos, articles and activities. -Develop a digital and social media campaign to promote National Summer Learning Day -Draft articles for weekly newsletter distributed to families, the Board, and donors. -Collect and create a digital archive of stories and testimonials from students, adult caregivers and staff that can be used in current and future marketing and communications efforts. -Create processes for teachers to contribute to marketing materials -Promote and coordinate program tours for donors, board members, and community partners -Coordinate and recognize the contributions of volunteers, community partners and donors. -Work with teachers to generate student created thank you notes, pictures, and artwork -Develop a calendar of important activities and events that should be captured in photos and videos for inclusion in the slideshow(s)
