The mission of Mauliola Keehi is to promote transformative healing through understanding the frequencies, vibrations, and Mana (energy) of the Honua (earth) that our Kupuna utilized to achieve Mauliola (wellbeing). The Honua is our ancestral medicine! The program's vision is a future where community well-being, ecological health, and cultural values thrive together to maintain the frequency of MAULIOLA (MENTAL, PHYSICAL, SPIRITUAL WELLBEING).

Member Duties : The VISTA will support Mauliola Ke’ehi various activities that combat poverty through educational support, health education, cultural competency, and land-based education for Kalihi’s public housing youth. The VISTA will assist with: (1) creating resource templates to improve MK's internal communication system (2) organizing MK's volunteer database comprised of quantitative and qualitative data to be utilized for current and future grant-funding (3) supporting the program’s evaluation efforts with evaluators from the local university (4) revising and updating MK's health and land-based curriculum. The VISTA is expected to spend the first 3 months of service familiarizing themselves with program activities and procedures. Strong preference for candidates who are familiar with Hawaii's culture, have a college degree, and have taken a Native Hawaiian language college course.
