Communities In Schools of Georgia QT Tutorial Program
 
 
 
Communities In Schools of Georgia AmeriCorps Foundations Tutorial Program provides an opportunity for committed members to engage in literacy and math tutoring activities that target students from Kindergarten to 5th grade. In addition to tutoring, the AmeriCorps Foundations Tutorial Program encourages the spirit of service by engaging members in leadership trainings, community service projects and recruiting volunteers for programs and/or projects. This approach builds on our history of success in communities throughout Georgia. Members serve in the following cities/counties: Albany/Dougherty, Gibson/Glascock, Eastman/Dodge, , Nashville/Berrien, Marietta/Cobb, Fitzgerald/Ben Hill, Berrien, Newton, and Waynesboro/Burke

Member Duties : Serve at least 450 hours by providing one-on-one or small group tutoring at least 25 hours each week. Work with school staff to identify students for tutoring and determine materials for tutoring sessions. Recruit at least 3 community volunteers. Participate in trainings, meetings and other assignments as requested and allowed by the AmeriCorps program. Provide additional support to students in the classroom or in after school activities. Keep logs and records of student contact and prepare quarterly reports.
