Bringing Recovery Home - Cincinnati

Housing, transportation, and employment are barriers to recovery. New Foundations' mission is to provide safe, sober, supportive, and structured living environments, while seeking out resources for the other barriers. We are reuniting our program participants with their families, establishing new life skills, finding as many resources as possible, and providing a safe environment to be imperfect. We encourage progress over perfection as they go through the ups and downs of a new life in recovery, all while experiencing unconditional love our recovery homes bring. A key role for our VISTA member would be outreach. Outreach in the community, including learning about our area’s resources on various levels, improving current partnerships, and developing new ones. This would allow the VISTA member to create a lasting impact on participants, New Foundations, and enhance recovery resources in our area. VISTA member will also track the success of these activities to show recovery in action. We hope to show investments in recovery programs help to improve success rates and therefore the community. New Foundations just created a Treatment Track program, which allows those coming out of rehab, jail, or off the streets into our program and is paid through donations, grants, or other funding available. If they remain compliant, all or a portion of their fees, will be paid for a pre-determined amount of time. This allows them to stay focused on recovery goals without worrying about how to pay program fees immediately. The VISTA member will also track the success of these activities to show recovery in action. We hope to show investments in recovery programs help to improve success rates. Other keys roles will include social media outreach, streamlining existing processes to improve participant experience and success rates, develop alumni programs, create opportunities to engage in community events, service work, and build a stronger network.
