TSC VISTA 2022: Black Rock Riverside Alliance
 
 
 
The Service Collaborative (TSC) VISTA Program mobilizes AmeriCorps VISTA members to function in organizations, government agencies and educational institutions. Members focus on expanding educational opportunities, ensuring economic opportunity for all and creating healthy futures for the residents of low-income communities. Our goals are to strengthen communities across the state and to allow organizations within them to better provide services to impoverished individuals and families. The Service Collaborative VISTA program has partner organizations in New York State and across the country. During their term of service members, will receive support from our VISTA team at The Service Collaborative of WNY. Our support includes monthly trainings, a social network of fellow members and daily support from VISTA Leaders.

Member Duties : BRRAlliance, Inc. was established to improve the quality of life for those that live and work in the Northwest corner of Buffalo. We lead the efforts to educate and advocate for the protection of and access to the natural resources of the community; and implement a strategy for community and economic development. BRRA offers access to healthy lifestyle choices with educational programs, safe play spaces, community gardens, focused ecology programs, and preservation and restoration efforts of historical properties and commercial districts. The VISTA member will be a vital part of the BRRA team by leading volunteer recruitment and development with a specific focus on green initiatives and economic development. With focused efforts on increasing volunteers, this position allows the BRRA to expand on existing programs, implement new programs in need of volunteer support, extend our outreach, and help us serve more residents of our community including youth at risk.
