Member Duties : The Agriculture Education and Community VISTA member will build the capacity of Rung for Women’s programs that are focused on hunger alleviation and sustainability education for low income Rung members from St. Louis metro area. A third of Rung’s members live below the federal poverty line. All earn under a family-sustaining wage, as defined by the MIT Living Wage Calculator. Members accepted for Cohorts 1 and 2 had an average annual salary of $25,817. As a result of the VISTA member’s service, Rung for Women will improve educational programs for Rung members and the broader community as well as increase the site’s capacity for food production.
