VISTA Grate Patrol Program Expansion Coordinator

The Grate Patrol Program Expansion Coordinator VISTA will be critical in our roll-out of a second Grate Patrol Canteen to bring meals, resources, and case management to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in DC. In conjunction with Program Services Staff, you will learn about our current Grate Patrol canteen, develop best practices lists for duplication, determine what elements will apply to the new demography and geography of a second Grate Patrol route, and work – with supervision and guidance - toward total funding and volunteer engagement. Perfect for those interested in social services, food insecurity, and volunteer or project management. Great for anyone interested in future nonprofit work, as The Salvation Army is a well-recognized and reputable international nonprofit organization. The Salvation Army is in 130+ countries and has representation in every United States zip code. Our mission is to serve all in need without discrimination. In the DC Metro Area, we serve an average of 70,000 people a year through housing for young mothers, meal programs, youth and music activities, substance abuse treatment, rent and utility assistance, and more. We value programs that help expand personal and professional horizons, such as our internship program and AmeriCorps VISTA. Hours: Mon, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesdays 1:00 PM- 9:00 PM.
