TCNJ AmeriCorps: Princeton YMCA
 
 
 
TCNJ AmeriCorps program is committed to helping nonprofit organizations build the sustainability of programs beyond the presence of AmeriCorps support to meet community impact objectives. The program supports 30-40 members on at TCNJ and six community-based organizations in Mercer County to address issues related to youth literacy, college access, food security, and job skill training. TCNJ AmeriCorps members mobilize the talents and interests of college students and community members, the resources of institutions of higher education and the expertise of community-based organizations to address these issues. In turn, the program provides participating Members with a positive and meaningful service experience designed to assist in developing marketable job skills and instill in them, a life-long service ethic.

Member Duties : Providing key administrative support to the ACE and Youth Forum programs - Supporting volunteers through application process and training - Coordinating data collection and management, event scheduling, meeting logistics, and support for monthly ACE volunteer mentor/mentee dinner meetings - Assisting with volunteer communications - Developing ACE handbooks for participants, families and volunteers - Planning and creating a PHS Youth Forum Debate Team - Documenting and monitoring mentor/mentee relationships
