The Be Kind People Project for Arizona's Youth
 
 
 
The Be Kind People Project ("BKPP") will have AmeriCorps members(Members) who will provide Social and Emotional (SEL) and Personal Youth Development (PYD) interventions to narrow the education achievement gap for 8,800 K-8 Arizona students in Cochise, Coconino, and Maricopa Counties, via school assemblies, classroom instruction, After School and summer enrichment coaching and tutoring, leadership development, creative arts expression for removing structural racial inequities, mentoring, evidence-based learning material development, and educator professional development and support in 16 metropolitan and non-metro Title 1 schools (including 25% of Title 1 schools in in rural areas). This program will focus on the CNCS focus area of education, specifically in K-12 success via the improvement of student socioemotional skills and overall school climate (ED27C), with ancillary benefits of serving rural AZ, advancing racial equality, and improving K-12 education achievement.

Member Duties : BKPP is looking for motivated, education focused, and kind individuals to contribute to the Programs and Student Education Team. The BE KIND CREW After School and Summer Learning Specialist Members will have the opportunity for creativity, collaboration, and communication to inspire the promotion and development of programs and services offered by BKPP. This position will offer diverse education-based experiences by working directly with The National Director of School Programs and Professional Development in the areas of creative practices, curriculum involvement, formatting lesson materials, lesson planning, and student and after school class instruction. All BE KIND CREW Learning Specialists will also have a BE KIND CREW “buddy” for mentorship and assistance in student and classroom interactions. These positions are for after school (afternoon) hours and for summer camp weeks from May – July.
