Root & Rebound Data Analyst
 
 
 
Root & Rebound is a national reentry and advocacy organization that addresses racial, economic, and social inequities within the criminal justice system and the reentry process by restoring and protecting rights, dignity, and opportunities for people directly impacted by the criminal justice system. Our mission is to restore power and resources to the families and communities most harmed by mass incarceration through legal advocacy, public education, policy reform and litigation—a model rooted in the needs and expertise of people who are directly impacted. We are headquartered in Oakland, California with satellite offices in Fresno, Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Greenville, South Carolina. The Data Analyst VISTA will play a major support role in making data-driven decisions and strategies for our growing organization. This individual will create strong feedback loops from the clients we serve to our programs and leadership teams and refine our online surveying and data tracking platforms. This position is ideal for someone who is creative, detail-oriented, persistent in the face of roadblocks and eager to support systems-impacted individuals gain access to reentry support. Those who wish to pursue careers in the research and data science field, and/or the nonprofit sector would be a great fit for this position.

Member Duties : Train team members to better capture and use impact data; Leverage outcomes for storytelling and decision-making; Execute unique ways to engage community members and donors to increase individual giving, donor retention and giving levels; Administer surveys and input results for analysis (Survey Monkey, Excel, etc) Coordinate with Development and Programs Teams on data collection, evaluation and reporting for grants, reports, communications, and other needs that may arise; Analyze data collected on programmatic work and create monthly reports; Develop best practices for collecting data and conducting evaluations across all programs’ areas; Support with implementation of bi-annual client survey; Build visual reporting tools that translate data into actionable learnings; Present high-level findings and academic research that contextualizes R&R’s impact to staff; Recruit 3-5 community volunteers who support R&R with data collection, tracking and analysis
