*MCVP - MT DPHHS – Children’s Special Health Services

The goal of this project is to increase access to health care resources to low-income Montana youth with special health care needs through integration and relationship building with underserved communities, specifically rural and Native communities. According to Kids County Data Center, 116,374 children were enrolled in either Medicaid of Health Montana Kids (CHIP) in 2020. Both Medicaid and Healthy Montana Kids are limited in coverage and do not provide full, comprehensive system of care of children and youth with special health care needs, especially those with greater medical complexities. The VISTA project will move children and youth with special healthcare needs out of poverty by increasing access for children, their families and their medical providers to services and resources available, improve tracking and data capture systems, and increase access to medical care, resources and family support needed to live a happy and healthy life. Located in Helena, MT.
