Harvest VISTA Leader- Engagement and Recruitment Coordinator

***It is a requirement of this VISTA Leader position, that you have completed a full term of service prior to applying, as an AmeriCorps member: VISTA, State/National, NCCC; Or Peace Corps volunteer; Or, if you were a member whose service term ended early due to COVID-19 and completed more than 50% of their term of service). Harvest Against Hunger (HAH) is a Seattle-based nonprofit that tackles food insecurity and waste across the country. Among the programs hosted at HAH is the Harvest VISTA program, an AmeriCorps Cohort. The Harvest VISTA Program places AmeriCorps members at local hunger relief and public health agencies in a variety of states (currently GA, MA, OR, UT, VT, & WA), where they create systems for produce collection, food sovereignty and education, volunteer recruitment, gleaning, and gardening. By design, specific activities vary by location to support community needs and available resources. To do this, members build and develop relationships with local growers, recruit new volunteers, build effective transportation networks, and identify necessary resources to make these new programs sustainable. Harvest VISTA Leaders are detail-oriented and community building centric mentors, who support coordination of the Harvest VISTA Program. They utilize their previous experiences within their service terms to support members, collect data, creatively generate resources, take initiative, and collaborate with the Harvest VISTA team.
