Flint Community School Corps VISTA
 
 
 
The Flint Community School Corps is an AmeriCorps program hosted by the Crim Fitness Foundation, with members serving in thirteen Flint area schools. The Flint Community School Corps program supports the goals and objectives of the Flint Community Education Initiative (led by the Crim Fitness Foundation) within the Flint area schools. Overall, the objectives of the Flint Community School Corps VISTA program are to improve student success by working with the site supervisor, school staff, community partners and volunteers to create programs.

Member Duties : The Community Resource Developer-VISTA focuses on community partnerships, volunteer engagement, and developing resources for the community education initiative. Partnerships: -Cultivate existing partnerships between local organizations - Create new partnerships between nonprofit organizations, local businesses and Flint area schools - Create a succession packet including all information of new and existing partners Neighborhood Engagement: attend neighborhood association, block club and community meetings. Volunteers: - Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to serve within the Flint Community Education Initiative sites - Partner to develop at least one day of service event. Resources: - Collaborate with other members/Community School Director to implement other fun, safe, quality and educational/enrichment activities for students and families through the Flint Community Education Initiative. Collect and support management of program/Flint CEI data and evaluation efforts.
