UWCCR - Homeless Assistance Resource Team VISTA
 
 
 
Sacramento Self-Help Housing is a non-profit assisting and housing the homeless in the Sacramento region. The HART program develops local volunteer organizations of which there are currently 9. The VISTA will assist in supporting these programs as well as through community organizing create more HART groups in the area. These groups are independent but all have the common goal of assisting the homeless in their local area as well as change attitudes about homelessness in their community. They often partner with SSHH on project to house or assist the homeless.

Member Duties : Assist with developing and creating new HART groups. Attend HART meetings. Edit the HARTs Together Newsletter and social media. Communicate with HART leaders, speak at HART meetings, Recruit new members. Assist with developing programs such as respite centers, shelter projects, and collaborative partnerships. Possibly write grants for various HART projects. Collaborate with other social service organizations.
