Maui Community Resilience and Communication VISTA
 
 
 
The VISTA will advance climate action by developing a community outreach campaign in alignment with the Counties Climate Action and Resilience Plan and work in conjunction with the State and three Counties in Hawaii - Supporting transparency and communication with public, private, and government organizations on climate action - Supporting the alignment and integration of climate action with other State and County plans and programs. As a member of the Climate Ready Hawaii cohort, the VISTA member will assist in outreach and communication to the pub-lic on general climate change topics, through social media, webpages, speaker series, meetings, and conferences. The member will also work with the Commission’s staff on pro-jects relevant to climate and equity. The ideal VISTA candidate will have a passion for meeting and helping people, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical skills, and an attention to detail.

Member Duties : The VISTA will: -Design social media campaigns to increase com-munity awareness and engagement with new Resilience Office initiatives. -Build new website pages and resources that in-crease the accessibility and interactivity of climate change and resilience information and programs. -Create an outreach and implementation strategy for increasing community engagement with the Maui County Aloha+ Challenge Dashboard platform. -Develop communications and outreach performance measures to evaluate the impact of programs on educating, supporting, and resourcing frontline communities -Develop, organize, and curate materials for the host office's and Commission's website, social media accounts, meetings, conferences, and other outreach functions critical to the dissemination of climate change information.
