Nile Valley Aquaponics Fund Developer AmeriCorps VISTA

Studies show the cost of food rising due to fuel costs, global warming and droughts, it will become more economically feasible for communities to look for other sustainable options for producing healthy food – such as aquaponics. Nile Valley Aquaponics strives to grow the capacity to serve vulnerable populations city-wide by working collaboratively with donors and community partners to generate substantial funding. This revenue will support vital programs by building capacity to research, write, and secure programmatic funding through grants. Fundraising efforts will also include produce and product sales, service learning, educational workshops, site tours, and other fundraising methods to address community needs.
