Member Duties : Louisiana Conservation Corps’ Conservation & Disaster Crews complete conservation projects on public lands throughout the region. Conservation projects include habitat restoration, disaster mitigation, trail maintenance & construction, and invasive species management on public lands. Crews travel to out-of-town project sites often, camping for 10 days at a time to complete projects. When deployed for a disaster this crew will serve as a resource for FEMA, and work alongside other disaster response partners to assist in community recovery efforts after state or national disasters, while building skills in Community Organization, Leadership, Emergency Management, and Humanitarian Aid. No experience or skills are required, just a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard within a diverse crew environment.
