LaCC Conservation & Disaster Crew Leader
 
 
 
Louisiana Conservation Corps’ Conservation & Disaster Crew will tackle some of the toughest problems in Louisiana including disaster response, coastal restoration, and public land maintenance needs. This is a full-time, 1700 hour term of service opportunity for young Americans, 21-28 years old. Louisiana Conservation Corps Crew Leaders will participate in environmental conservation projects in parks, green spaces, and public lands in Louisiana and the surrounding region. These teams remain on call for local and national disasters and are able to deploy at short notice for 30-60 days. A term as a crew leader with Louisiana Conservation Corps is both a challenging and rewarding experience that you will remember for the rest of your life.

Member Duties : Louisiana Conservation Corps’ Conservation & Disaster Crew Leaders will co-lead a crew of eight through conservation projects and while camping. Projects include trail building and maintenance, habitat restoration, invasive removal, and a variety of public land improvement projects. Leaders will facilitate and participate in day-to-day details of crew life on-site and in camp. Crew Leaders will also need to transport crews and materials safely in program vans and trucks. Need to have a clean driving record and be insurable. Crew leaders should have at least 6 months of experience with a Conservation Corps or similar organization and have leadership experience. Conservation & Disaster crews work a varied schedule: 10 days on with 4 days off, or 5 days on with 2 days off. Bring a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard within a diverse crew!
